Bronxville, NY

The Village of Bronxville, New York Words like "quaint" and "charming" could be used to describe the Village of Bronxville. It is small, only one square mile, with about 6,500 residents and is located about 15 miles north of New York City. We are proud of our community minded spirit and our beautiful architecture. Residents are attracted to the community for the outstanding school system and the beautiful residential areas with a mix of housing styles from apartments, to townhouses and single family homes. Even though we are small we have two colleges nearby, a train station and a hospital in the center of the Village. The Village was home to an arts colony in the early 20th century during which time many noteworthy houses by prominent and casual architects were built. Former president John F Kennedy once lived in the Village. One noted local historian has commented that "Bronxville is a suburb endlessly copied and never matched." Our "Main Street" is actually named Pondfield Road and runs through the center of town. Many of our merchants have been in Bronxville for 20, 30, and 40 years or more and are true stalwarts of the community. These businesses include restaurants, a book store, clothing stores, jewelry stores, a movie theater, coffee and ice cream shops, and the like. Enthusiasm for our businesses can be seen at our many community events, including a Farmer's Market, sidewalk sales, summer concerts, neighborhood runs, a Children's Fall festival, and a Holiday Tree Lighting. Come visit our Village!
