Allentown, a historic village located in central New Jersey between New York City and Philadelphia was founded in 1706 and is a very quaint town with friendly business owners and residents. Allentown's borough currently has approximately 55 businesses in a variety of types providing goods, services and employment opportunities, a variety of housing choices, abundant parks and churches. In the downtown area are the mill, the mill house, two colonial-era taverns and the John Imlay House - possibly the finest example of Country Georgian architecture on the East Coast. There is an also an exceptionally wide variety of architectural styles in the village.
