Strong women and a strong downtown! Incorporated in 1772, Edenton has a rich history complete with its very own Edenton Tea Party! The Edenton Tea Party was a protest similar to the Boston Tea Party except Edenton's was led by women! Fifty-one women in Edenton signed a statement of protest vowing to give up tea and boycott other British goods. The women of Edenton have always played a huge role in this tiny little Town's success. Edenton's population is only 5,000. It is located in a very rural and economically challenged area. $25,000 would go a long way in our little town. The setting on Edenton Bay is beautiful, but its true beauty is found in the women who are the large majority of Edenton's creative business owners and leaders! Many of these strong women are mothers, sisters, wives and business owners. By voting for Edenton, you are voting for women!
