Construction on the Rialto Theater began in 1919 and was touted as the "...the finest theater north of Denver." At its opening, the theater contained 1,014 wooden seats as compared to the more comfortable 446 seats today. Furthermore, every February, valentines pour into a Loveland, Colorado post office. They come from the far corners of the world - from Finland to Germany, China and beyond. They end up at the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, where they're sorted, stamped with a special message from the "Sweetheart City" and sent back on their way. The idea of Loveland's valentine re-mailing program started more than 70 years ago, in 1947 - when an intrigued postmaster and an enterprising local businessman joined forces.
