LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation (LDRC for short) has brought the community together to celebrate our little city nestled along the banks of the Caloosahatchee River. LaBelle is a rural area with bigger cities about 45 minutes to an hour away. LDRC volunteers work hard to provide events that allow residents to stay close to home and still have much to do. If the LDRC volunteers are not hosting the event themselves, LDRC is busy sharing the good news of others by providing monthly newsletter updates of what is happening around town and serving as a community location for catching up on the latest that all organizations and businesses have to offer at our Community Board. The communication that we provide helps those driving through as well as the boaters that come to stay at our 3-day free City of LaBelle Boat Docks. Visitors seem to never want to leave once they breathe in the sweet air and slow their pace to our country way of life. Unique boutiques, shops, antique stores and restaurants line our downtown streets just waiting to be discovered. Being chosen as America's Main Street would allow for more of our goals to be accomplished like revitalizing our downtown Barron Park to help harness the beauty that our oak trees offer. A major goal is helping small businesses and entrepreneurs explore their opportunities and achieve their goals; funds could be used to provide grant opportunities for those looking into doing business in our downtown district. Within Downtown LaBelle there is a budding art district. Funds can help create more aesthetically pleasing murals and sculptures and endless other ideas that the volunteers have been dreaming of!
