Lost Nation is a small rural farming community with population of around 450 located in Clinton County, Iowa. We are known for our annual summer celebration called Rustic Days, which takes place the 3rd weekend of July. We host a well-known "Rustic Run" a 1 mile and 4 mile race, many locals and out of town guests participate in this yearly run. We are currently working on putting a campground at our beautiful park. Our hope is to bring guests to town, who will help our small local businesses. Another city tradition is at Christmas time. A local resident donates a huge Christmas Tree to the city, and it is decorated and placed in the center of Main Street. Locals and travelers love this tradition, and travel just to see it! Our inter-generational committee is dedicated to revamping our Main Street and other areas around town. In addition to our committee, the churches work together for religious classes, such as Friends of Faith and Sunday School programs. They also provide a food pantry and health forums for residents. The Booster Club, Lions Club, and small businesses help support all of our local activities such as Rustic Days, Santa's visit, and the Easter Egg Hunt. This money could greatly help us with the derelict buildings in town, as we need help tearing down or revitalizing them in order to make our Main Street more appealing.
